The Houston Firkin Fest is a celebration of unique Texas craft beer served in traditional casks (or firkins). The Houston Firkin Fest will focus on providing our attendees with unique, rare and hard to get beers from craft breweries in Houston and across the state. Attendees will be able to enjoy great beer, talk to Texas brewers, listen to local musicians and peruse DeFalco's Home Wine and Beer Supplies store.
New Republic is bringing two unique beers:
Leane Ginger Blonde
Pronounced "ll-anne", but spelled as "lean". Perhaps the beer got to us when we picked the name (or it's the middle name of someone at the brewery - also a ginger blonde). For this beer we decided to infuse ginger into Kadigan (pronounced as a Bostonian would say "cardigan"). Crisp, refreshing, and despite being a ginger this beer has a soul.
Mocha Fire Rooster Mocha Sriacha Dunkelweizen
Feathery wheat softly tickles your lips, then bursts into your mouth with chocolate flame. Like Skylight? Like chocolate and coffee? Like Sriacha? How about roosters? Then you'll like them mixed together and served from a cask. Beer does not contain actual rooster.
