Brazos Valley Bucket List

Howdy

We are getting a little extra attention due to some television coverage on KBTX (thanks folks).  Perhaps you are reading this because of that.  In any case, I didn’t want the first page you see to be a mild rant over recent updates in the Texas legislature.

A Little Bit About Us

The story covered our origin succinctly and accurately so I won’t keep you here too long.  My wife, Adrienne, and I moved here from Silicon Valley so she could pursue her PhD at A&M.  I write software to pay the bills.  John and his wife, Lisa, are Aggies of ’02, coming back here so she could open Precision Eye Care while John also produces software.  He and I met through the homebrewing community about the time I started shopping around for a partner in the brewery.

John & I sat down with our wives on May 1st of last year to talk it over.  It was a comfortable spring evening on the deck at Ozona’s where the four of us committed to the sprouting business we have now.  A summer of research, fall equipment purchases preceding the winter of permit wrangling led to April 7th of this year when New Republic Brewing made our first sale.

We started small in order to learn about the industry before going in full-time.  Twice a week we brew up a batch of Bellows, our Texas Amber ale.  It is a full-bodied, mildly bitter beer with a smooth finish.  We put out a limited number of kegs each week to our draft accounts in Northgate and downtown Bryan.  Texas law prohibits us from speaking the name of any retailers, but you can find a list of bars that carry our beer on KBTX.

Keep up to date on Facebook or Twitter.  Drink with us on Untappd.
